Edna Eulene (Soles) Bacon

Mrs. Edna Eulene Soles Bacon, age 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, died Monday, February 10, 2025, at her daughter’s home following an extended illness.  She was a native of the Kibbee Community in Montgomery County and later moved to Vidalia.  She lived in Macon for several years, returned to Vidalia where she lived until moving to Jacksonville with daughter in 2008.  She worked most of her life with Oxford Industries, Collins Mobile Home, Trane Corporation, and was owner/operator of Edna’s Place Restaurant.  She was a  member of North Thompson Baptist Church.  She enjoyed going to the beach, country music, good southern cooking, and more importantly, she loved her family.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Patrick Bacon; one son, Donnie Patrick Bacon, whose death occurred just four days after her death; parents, Jessie Norman Soles, Sr. and Annie Louise Halligan Soles; and Mrs. Bacon was the last of fifteen children.

Her family includes one daughter, Debbie Bacon Howell of Jacksonville; one son, Jimmy Darryl Soles and wife Susan of Macon; three grandchildren, Brandon Patrick Howell of Jacksonville, Desiree Galbreath of the Sharpespur Community, and Brittney Nicole Bacon of Atlanta; three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Duane, and Cheyenne; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, February 23rd, from 2:00 until 5:00.

The funeral service will be Monday, February 24th, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Mitch Bellflower officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
