Mr. Dwight Dees, age 49, of Tarrytown, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Memorial Health in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County and lived in Montgomery County most of his life. He was a 1990 graduate of Montgomery County High School and was a graduate Georgia Southern University. He was a pipefitter, Baptist by faith; and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and mechanicing. He is preceded in death by his father, Dwight Watson Dees, Sr.; mother, Bessie Whitaker Dees O’Connor; stepfather, Charles O’Connor; stepbrother, Ladson O’Connor; and stepsister, Julie O’Connor.
Survivors include his sister, Mandy Dees Williamson and husband Scott of the Johnson Corner Community; one stepsister, Sissy Sheffield and husband Mitch; one stepbrother, Chad O’Connor and wife Marie, all of Jesup; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his best friend, Amanda Hudgins Odom of Tarrytown.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, June 4th, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.
