Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Higgs Cobb, age 82, of the Ohoopee Community, died Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Meadows Health & Rehab in Vidalia following an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Ohoopee most of her life. She attended Lyons High School, and she and her late husband were owners of Charlie’s Minit Mart in Lyons. She was a homemaker, Baptist by faith, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in her yard, and taking care of her sons. Her husband, Harold Cobb; parents, Festus Higgs and Ofa Rollison Higgs; and eight siblings, twin sister, Doris Higgs Morrison, Hulan Higgs, Mildred Hodgson, Meldra Higgs Collins, Winston Higgs, Mary Higgs Graham, Margie Higgs Patrick, and Jean Higgs Herndon precede her in death.
Her family includes four sons, Allen Morrison and wife Michelle of Brunswick, Kendall Curtis of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Hulan Curtis of Statesboro, and Charlie Cobb and wife Tiffany of Swainsboro; four grandchildren, Anna Simmons and husband Allan of Roswell, Sara Morrison and Trexler Curtis of Atlanta, and Nicolas Curtis of Lyons; three great-granddaughters, Ava Simmons, Elin Simmons, and Scarlett Curtis; one brother, Rollison “Butch” Higgs of Lyons; one sister, Joyce Allan of Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews, including a niece, DiAnne Link and husband Mike of Vidalia; and special family friends, Sherry Page, Ricky, Linda, and Jeremy Edge.
The funeral service will be Monday afternoon, April 14th, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with her great-nephew, Nathan Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
