Donnie Patrick Bacon

Mr. Donnie Patrick Bacon, age 62, of Vidalia, died on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14, 2025, at University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida after an extended illness.  He was a native of Toombs County and attended school in Vidalia.  He lived in McRae-Helena for a few years before making Vidalia his home.  He was manager at Title Max in Vidalia and Dublin, and while living in McRae-Helena was owner/operator of Reflections Auto Detailing.  Donnie was a mentor to many at the area addiction centers.  He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Lora Ann Shumack Bacon; father, Cecil Patrick Bacon; mother, Edna Eulene Soles Bacon, whose death occurred just four days before his death; and a sister, Patricia Bacon.

His family includes two daughters, Desiree Galbreath of the Sharpespur Community, and Brittney Bacon of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Duane Galbreath of Sharpespur, and Cheyenne of Atlanta; two sisters, Debbie Bacon Howell of Jacksonville and Linda Gale Bacon; two brothers, Jimmy Darryl Soles and wife Susan of Macon and Ricky Bacon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a nephew, Brandon Patrick Howell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, February 23rd, from 2:00 until 5:00.

The funeral service will be Monday, February 24th, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Mitch Bellflower officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The daughter, Desiree, will receive friends at her home following the service, 357 Ovid Road, Ailey, GA
