Donna M. Rolen

Mrs. Donna M. Rolen, age 55, of Lyons, died Wednesday, July 8, 2020, in St. Mary’s Hospice House in Athens after an extended illness.  She was born in Ft. Bliss, Texas and has lived in Lyons since 1973.  She was a 1982 graduate of Lyons Senior High School and earned an Associate degree from Brewton-Parker College.  She was the Deli Manager at Thriftway in Lyons and worked there eighteen years.  More recently she worked at Meadows Health in Vidalia, and she was Baptist by faith.  Donna enjoyed watching cooking shows and blessed others with her cooking talent.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe V. Rolen and Gladys Bryant Rolen; one brother, Joe Rolen; maternal grandparents, Evelyn and Roy Bryant; and paternal grandparents, Willard Gaine Rolen and Dona Allen Rolen.

Mrs. Rolen is survived by two children, Brian Rolen and Kristy Banks of Lyons; four sisters, Cheryl Klipsch and husband David of Fountain Colorado, Belinda Beck and husband Jason of Soperton, Patricia Huard of Apopka, Florida, and Joanne Richardson and husband Marty of Vidalia; two brothers, Gaine Rolen and wife Lady of Aurora, Missouri, and John Rolen and wife Jennifer of Vidalia; two grandchildren, Louis and Noah; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 12th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Conner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
