Mrs. Donna Hester Swain, age, 75, of Lyons, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native of Miami, Florida and was a 1966 graduate of Miami Edison High School. She moved to Collins in 1968 and to Lyons in 1982. She worked at Toombs County Manufacturing for several years; and she enjoyed reading, cooking, watching game shows, and spending time with family and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, William “Fuzzy” Swain; parents, James E. Hester and Lillian Katherine Brooks Hester; one sister, Lynda Hester Cook; and one brother, Frank Hester.
Her family includes one son, Jason Swain and wife Abigail; one daughter, Lindy Bishop and husband Dennis, all of Lyons; two brothers, William “Bill” Hester and wife Lana of Collins and James “Butch” Hester and wife Robin of Reidsville; nine grandchildren, Melissa Haines, Lindsey Haines (Greg), Cheyenne Swain (Tyler), Rayni Swain (Zach), Bryar Bishop, Cooper Bishop, Peyton McDaniel, Piper Swain and Paige Swain; six great-grandchildren, Cadence, Trinity, Dash, Bodhi, Zoey, and Alden, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be Sunday afternoon, April 27th, 2025, at 2:00 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
