Donna Lawrence Obituary
Mrs. Donna Marie Pinney Lawrence, age 70, of Alston, died Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Oxley Park & Rehab in Lyons following an extended illness. She was born near Boston Massachusetts on June 4, 1956, to the late Brace Pinney and Pauline Elisabeth Jenkins Pinney. She lived in Massachusetts until moving as a young teenager to Morrow, Georgia. She graduated in 1974 from Morrow High School in Clayton County and later worked with Southern Bell in Atlanta. She attended Swainsboro Tech, Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, and earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from Clayton State. She worked as a register nurse at Meadows Memorial in Vidalia, Henry Medical in Stockbridge, and work in home healthcare in the Atlanta area for many years. She moved to Montgomery County in 2021; and she enjoyed crafts, especially scrapbooking and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Pam Pinney Askew, Debra Pinney Harrington, and infant sister, Judith Ann Pinney; and one brother, Wayne Pinney.
She is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Harold E. Lawrence of Alston; four children, Jon-Michael Carpenter and wife Jessica of Uvalda, Michael Lawrence and wife Lisa of Jesup, Luann Lawrence and Randy Stowe of Covington, and Shannon Marie Mayfield and husband Ben of Forsyth; one brother, Mark Pinney and wife Kitty of St. Joe, Florida; fourteen grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Josh Moran officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery near Alston.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
