Mr. Donald E. Conner, age 74, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his home following an extended illness. He was a native of Telfair County, a 1968 graduate of Telfair County High School, and in 1972, he earned an associate degree from Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon. He was an ordained minister, and pastored at several churches, including Friendship Baptist Church in Glenwood, El Bethel Baptist Church near Chauncey, and Lovely Grove Baptist Church near Eastman. He was also a social worker at Paul Anderson Youth Home for more than twenty years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Vidalia where he served as an elder and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed playing the guitar and talking to people.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Elastis Conner and Geraldine Harrelson Conner; sister, Linda Durden Bailey; and special aunt and uncle, Rebecca and M.L. Harrelson.
Mr. Conner is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Vicky Wrye Conner of Vidalia; four children, Aaron Lee Conner and wife Janet, and Christie Shaw, all of Wheeler County, Sonja Hamilton and husband Brian of the Kibbee Community, and Mandy Singletary and husband Brad of Dodge County; ten grandchildren, Symphony Horne and husband Hunter, Harmony Shaw and fiancé Brayden, Joshawa Shaw, Bryce Conner, Beau Conner, Jay Hamilton, Luke Hamilton, Caleb Singletary and fiancé Madison, Jake Singletary and wife Amanda, and Grace Singletary; and one great-granddaughter, Shiloh Horne.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday morning, December 21st, 2025, at 11:00 at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Vinson and Kevin Williams officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 at El Bethel Baptist Church near Chauncey.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
