Mrs. Diane Phillips Lawler, age 81, of Vidalia, died Monday, February 10, 2025, at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Aiken, South Carolina and lived in Greenwood, South Carolina for a few years. She moved to Toombs County in the late 1940s, she attended Vidalia High School, and lived in Vidalia most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, shopping, going to the beach, morning devotions, and taking care of all her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Robert Lewis Lawler; parents, Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Phillips and Julia Dell Corley Phillips; and a sister, Judy Phillips McDonald.
Her family includes four children, Bob Lawler of Vidalia, Chris Lawler and wife Denise of Soperton, Cindy Lawler Lyles and husband David of Vidalia, and Wade Lawler of Port Wentworth; one sister, Becky Phillips Powell of Vidalia; one brother-in-law, Jack McDonald of Vidalia; nine grandchildren, Dustin Osborne of Swainsboro, Alexis Frady and husband Beau of Bradenton, Florida, Erica Madison of Lyons, Deriek Lawler, Sr. and wife Brooke of Parrottsville, Tennessee, Amanda Moore and husband Zac of Santa Claus, Britley Salter and husband Jonathan of the Center Community, Matt Cone of Port Wentworth, Haley Lawler of Reidsville, and Corey Lawler and fiancé Audrey of Jacksonville, Florida; nineteen great-grandchildren, a great-grandson to be born in August, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon, February 13th, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Tippins officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
