Mr. Dell Kight, age 63, of Alston, died Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at his home after a sudden illness. He was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Alston most of his life. He was a 1979 graduate of Montgomery County High School. Dell dedicated his working life with Georgia Department of Corrections in Montgomery County, retiring after thirty years as a lieutenant. Dell attended Alston Baptist Church, and he enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, jogging, collecting arrowheads, making necklaces from arrowheads, and making bows and knives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robbie Dell Kight and Barbara Ann Stapleton Kight; and two siblings, Tony Kight and Sandy Kight Ogle.
He is survived by three children, Kaitlin Kight Wickstrom of Cadwell, Mandy Kight and Colt Kight, both of Lyons; former wife, Beck Kight of Lyons; two grandchildren, Jayce Nazworth and Jaxon Wickstrom; one sister, Cindy Kight Steverson of Hazlehurst; two nephews, Josh Willis and Andrew Steverson; one great-niece, Eliza Jane Willis; and numerous cousins.
The funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon, October 31st, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Doyle Waller and Pastor Cliff Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
