Mrs. Debra Fernandez Tucker, age 52, of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday, November 28, 2024, at her home, following an extended illness. She was a native of Mt. Vernon where she lived all of her life other than living two years in Guyton. She was a 1991 graduate of Montgomery County High School, a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon. Debra enjoyed her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her father Reverend Jack Fernandez and her father-in-law, Bill Tucker, preceded her in death.
Her family includes her husband of twenty-nine years, Billy Tucker; mother, Betty R. Fernandez, both of Mt. Vernon; four siblings, Denise Fernandez Butler and husband Dane of Glenwood, Diane Fernandez Johnson and husband Joey of Mt. Vernon, David Fernandez and wife Melissa of Uvalda, and Duane Fernandez and wife Kim of Cochran; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon, December 3rd, 2024, from 1:00 until just prior to the service at 2:00 in the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon with her nephew, Pastor Joshua Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
