Mrs. Debbie Kay Hutcheson, age 63, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia following an extended illness. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Malden, Missouri. She was a 1980 graduate of Malden High School and later earned an associate degree from Indiana Business School in Bloomington, Indiana. She lived in Texas for several years before moving to Vidalia in 1994. She worked at Heilig-Meyers Furniture in Vidalia until their closing and later with Curtis McCall and Larry Morris at Badcock Home Furniture in Vidalia. She was a member of the Vidalia Church of Christ. Debbie enjoyed crocheting, coloring, crossword puzzles, and playing croquet.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Reynold Lloyd Baker and Nina Gayle Barnett Baker; daughter Nicole Lynn Field; and brother, Rory Lynn Baker.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn D. Hutcheson; one daughter, Rachel East of Texas; three sisters, Lorie Clark, Teresa Slanda, and Tonya Baker; three nephews, Anthony Slanda, Thomas Slanda, and Garrett Baker; one niece, Lacey Gant; and special friend and caregiver, Shannon Scholfield.
There will be no service.
