David E. Harrison Obituary

Mr. David E. Harrison, age 61, of Bogart, Georgia, died Monday, October 30, 2023, at his residence after a brief illness.  He was a native of Lyons and lived in Athens most of his life.  He was a graduate of Toombs Central School and earned an Associate’s degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.  He worked part time for five years with UPS, then full time for thirty years, until his retirement from the company in 2019.  He was an avid University of Georgia Bulldogs fan and he was a member of the Elberton Gun Club.  He enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Wade Harrison and Marilyn Davis Harrison; brother, Randy Harrison; and two sisters, Josephine Toole and Janice Reynolds.

His family includes his wife of twenty-two years, Angela Novotny Harrison of Athens; one stepson, Jason C. Bentley and Rachel of Commerce; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anthony, Bailey and Saylor; three nieces and several other relatives.

The family will receive friends in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home on Saturday morning, November 4th, at 10:00 until just prior to the funeral service at 11:00 with Pastor Eddie Toole officiating.  Burial will follow at Harden’s Chapel Cemetery.
