Mrs. Cornelia Turner “Mema” Ford, age 79, of the Cedar Crossing Community, died Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Cedar Crossing and Uvalda all of her life. As a child, at the death of her father, she helped her mother raise her younger siblings, and she worked on the family farm. She was owner of the former Connie’s in southern Toombs County for twenty years, worked at Lady Renee’s in Cedar Crossing, and was owner of Ford’s Thrift Shop in Uvalda. She attended Bethel – The Church of God. She enjoyed cooking, baking, taking care of her dog, Lexi, the mountains, watching boat racing at the Altamaha River, going to NASCAR races, taking her family to Wild Adventures, and she loved and raised several children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest William Ford; grandson, “Lil John” Partin; parents, J.C. Turner and Cassie Mae Willis Turner; and three siblings, Katrina Willis, Charlie Turner, and Danny McCarty.
Her family includes four children, Johnny C. Partin, Angela Askew and husband Dwayne, all of Cedar Crossing, Adam Partin and wife Emilee of Alston, and Sadie McCarty of Cedar Crossing; one stepson, Yancy and Deidre Ford of Guyton; five grandchildren, Melanie Coxwell and John of Statesboro, Jimmy Partin and Joey Partin of Cedar Crossing; and Matthew and Joshua Ford; great-grandchildren, Breanna Butler and husband Devin of Cedar Crossing, Blake Horton and wife Kylieann of Metter, Bryce Deloach of Statesboro, Jessalyn Partin of Ailey, L.J. Partin of Cedar Crossing, Mackenzie Deloach of Statesboro, Jace Partin of Cedar Crossing, Slade Partin of Ailey, Jentry Partin of Cedar Crossing, Jaydin Partin of Vidalia, Jaran Partin of Lyons, Everlee Partin, and Maggie Partin; six great-great-grandchildren, Brayleigh, Brysen, RemiGrace, Reeli Belle, Blakeli Ann, and Huntley-Mae; two brothers, Ricky McCarty and wife Cathy of Cedar Crossing, and Eric Turner of Vidalia; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Turner of Camilla; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, June 25th, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Melvin Kramer, Pastor Ricky McCarty, and Jimmy Partin officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
