Mrs. Connie Joiner Goss, age 77, of Glenwood, died Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia following an extended illness. She was a native of Wheeler County, living in Glenwood all of her life before moving to Vidalia in 2023. She was a 1966 graduate of Montgomery County High School and later in her life earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brewton Parker College in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Goss was owner of Joiner Loan & Accounting for forty-five years, served on the board of directors for the Wheeler County Chamber of Commerce, and served four years as Wheeler County Chief Registrar. She was a long-time member of Glenwood First Baptist Church where she played piano and organ, taught Sunday school, served as church treasurer, and served on numerous committees within the church. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan; she enjoyed traveling and exploring the world, animals, and getting together with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arlan Goss; granddaughter, Grace Erin Smith; and parents, Gerdna Monroe Joiner, Sr. and Mildred Sears Joiner.
She is survived by three children, Laura Goss Smith and husband Eric of Glenwood, Monroe Goss and wife Natasha, and Jeremy Goss and wife Angel, all of Vidalia; one brother, G.M. Joiner of Glenwood; six grandchildren, Jesse Smith and wife Alexandra of Nebraska, Jared Smith of Glenwood, Alese Meeks and husband Hunter of Douglas, Brylen Goss, Ayden Goss, and Presley Goss, all of Vidalia; three great-grandchildren, Jensen Meeks, Arlan Meeks, and Emmie Grace Meeks; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, December 1st, 2025, at 3:00 at Glenwood First Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Hammons officiating. Burial will follow beside her husband at Glenwood City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Monday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
