Clara Wynell (Wilkes) Scott

Mrs. Clara Wynell Wilkes Scott, age 97, of Vidalia, died Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Harborview Health Systems in Jesup following an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County, living in Jesup twenty-five years before returning to Toombs County in 1985.  She worked as a sewing machine operator at Oxford Industries in Vidalia and Manhattan in Jesup for a combined forty-five years.  She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Vidalia since 1945, and was a member the Busy Bees Sunday School Class. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.  She is preceded in death by her husband, George Scott in 2011; and parents, Ralph Wilkes and Emma Elijah Stacks Wilkes; and three brothers, Quinton, John O., and W.T. Wilkes.

Her family includes two sons, Charles E. Scott and wife Rhonda of Jesup, and Richard Oliver Scott and wife Lois of Hoschton; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00 at Pine Crest Cemetery with Randy McDuffie officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Tabernacle Baptist Church, PO Box 160, Vidalia, GA 30475.
