Mrs. Charlotte Ann Mathis, age 53, of the McNatt Falls Community, died Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia following an extended illness. She was born on March 3, 1973, in Wheeler County to the late Melvin E. Mathis and Elouise Wilkerson Mathis. She grew up in Glenwood and attended Wheeler County High School. Later, she moved to McNatt Falls where she lived most of her life and was a cook at several restaurants in the Vidalia area. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of God; and she enjoyed fishing at ponds, traveling, shopping, going to the beach, meeting new people, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, Gregory C. Towns; and two sisters, Mary Mathis and Betty Jo Farmer.
She is survived by her lifelong best friend, Allen Denmark of Johnson Corner Community; four children, Charlotte NeeSmith of Lyons, Chasity Denmark and fiancé Christian Corley of Uvalda, Micheal Denmark and wife Ashley of McNatt Falls, and Morgan Denmark of Hazlehurst; stepson, Greg Towns of Macon; one brother, Dovie Mathis and wife Cheryl of Scotland; eleven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening, April 16, 2026, at 6:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Mincey officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until just prior to the service.
