Mrs. Carol Ann Cammack Oglesby, age 77, of Oak Park, died Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Treutlen County and a 1965 graduate of Soperton High School. After meeting her husband Orbin in 1968, she made Oak Park her home. She and Orbin were owners/operators of Oak Park Grocery from 1970 to 1973. It was during that time they made many friends and fostered a love of serving their community. They were also current owners of Oglesby Family Farm. She was a member of Olney Primitive Baptist Church, which she loved dearly. She enjoyed birds, especially humming birds, vegetable gardening, cooking, canning, fishing and sewing, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She especially loved cooking for and serving her children and grandchildren’s friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren Dean Cammack and Rose Maria DiDonato Cammack; brother, Ronald Joseph Cammack; infant sister, Tammy Latrice Cammack; and sister, Shirley Jean Cammack Roberts.
Her family includes her husband of fifty-six years, Orbin Oglesby of Oak Park; three children, Michelle Oglesby Wright of Lyons, Mitchell Oglesby of Nashville, Tennessee, and Marlon Oglesby and wife Julie of Moore, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Sam Wright of Lyons, Maggie Wright of Savannah, Matthew Oglesby and Jonathan Oglesby, both of Moore, South Carolina; four siblings, Dean Cammack and wife Nell of Richmond Hill, Donna Stephenson and husband Harold of Dublin, Becky Mason and husband Danny, and Kim Wren, all of Soperton; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family, including three uncles, Albert DiDonato, Joe Rosito, and Tommy DiDonato and wife Dorine, all of Dublin.
The family will receive friends in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home on Friday evening, July 26th, from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Saturday morning, July 27th at 11:00 at Olney Primitive Baptist Church in Oak Park with Elder Bill Durrence officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park City Cemetery.
