Mr. Calvin “Esten” Clements, age 76, of Vidalia, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the Serenity Hospice House in Dublin after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County, as child moved to Florida and lived there until returning to Toombs County in the mid 1970’s. He was a heavy equipment operator, including a crane operator, working for many years at Plant Vogtle and Plant Hatch with International Union Operating Engineers Local #474 in Savannah. Esten enjoyed golfing, fishing; and was well known as an expert pool player in Georgia and Florida. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Leah Clements; grandson, Bryce McKinley Clements; parents, James Evey Clements and Mildred Rollins Clements; brother, Kenneth “Kennis” Clements; and a sister, Grace Clements Gray.
His family includes one son, Dane Clements of Baxley; one stepdaughter, Allyson Cauley Branch and wife Melinda Branch of Baxley; two grandchildren, Drew Clements and Kimber Clements; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, September 8th, at 9:00 a.m. at the Cedar Crossing Cemetery with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.
