Mr. Brian Yale Steptoe, age 57, of Higgston, died Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Treutlen County and was raised there and in Montgomery County. Later, he attended Adrian School and Swainsboro High School. He worked as a carpenter and builder for more than twenty-five years, and he was a member of Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church in Treutlen County. He enjoyed going to Daytona Beach, the dog track in Daytona and collecting baseball cards.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rabon Douglas Steptoe and Flora Mae Holton Steptoe; and a brother, Michael Glover.
Mr. Steptoe is survived by four children, Avery Steptoe and wife Miranda, Kensley Steptoe and Michael Steptoe, both of Swainsboro, and Calin Mason of Lyons; three siblings, Pamela Glover Hinsley and husband Roger of Houston, Texas, Mitchell Steptoe and wife Rhonda of Lothair, and twin sister, Bridgette Steptoe Brand and husband Billy of the Blue Ridge Community; three grandchildren, Alina, Jayce, and Colten; former wife, Natasha Steptoe; long-time friend and caregiver, Cody Griffis; one uncle, Jimmy Steptoe and wife Regina of Soperton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 19th, 2026, at 2:00 at Holton Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery.
