Brenda Connell Smith, age 65, of Lyons, died Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County, growing up in Cedar Crossing, attended Toombs Central School, and lived in Lyons most of her life. She dedicated many years of her career at Federal Pacific Electric Company in Vidalia and was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed watching Westerns, reading her Bible, her dogs, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted Christian and a wonderful and cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who left behind a legacy of love and kindness. Her warm, kind spirit and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ron Smith, Sr.; father, Aaron Connell, and mother, Eleise Bryant Connell; and her sisters.
Her family includes two children, Julie Smith Lynn and husband Ricky of Mt. Vernon, and Ron Smith, Jr. of Lyons and partner, Michael Palmer of Vidalia;; two grandchildren, Maecon Lynn and Nathan Lynn; brother, Ronnie Connell of Claxton; and many nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart.
A memorial service will be held later.
