Mrs. Brenda Hutto Sells, age 64, of Santa Claus, died Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Memorial Health in Savannah after a brief illness. She was a native of Toombs County, growing up in Lyons and was a 1979 graduate of Lyons Senior High School. She was a graduate of CETA in Claxton, earning a degree in Nursing. Later, she became an RN, working at local hospitals and nursing homes and more recently worked as a traveling nurse. Brenda served on the Santa Claus City Council and as Mayor Pro-Tem. She was a member of Victory Fellowship Church in Lyons. She was very giving and generous, she enjoyed crocheting, canning, cooking, baking, sitting on her back porch drinking coffee with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gady A. Hutto; stepfather, Steve Bowen, and brother, Reggie Hutto.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Terry E. Sells of Santa Claus; four children, Leslie Kinney Heerboth and husband Tim of Robertsville, Missouri, Everette Kinney and wife Allison of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Billy Sells of Uvalda, and Cassandra Sells Swayne and husband Charlie of McDonough; her mother, Fay Burton Hutto of Lyons; two sisters, Renee Hutto Wright and husband Walter of Santa Claus, Beverly Hutto Youmans of Vidalia; two brothers, Lauren Hutto of Santa Claus, and Mike Hutto and wife Dori of Powder Springs; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday morning, December 17th, 2025, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Poppell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Brenda’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 4849 Paulsen St. Suite 102, Savannah, GA 31405.
