Bobbie Hendley Obituary

Mrs. Bobbie Taylor Hendley, age 92, of Vidalia, died Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a sudden illness.  She was a native of Alma and a 1950 graduate of Bacon County High School. She went on to earn an associate degree in Bookkeeping and returned to Alma after several years. In 1968, she made Vidalia her home.  She worked as a bookkeeper at Georgia Machine for 12 years and at Oxford Industries for 30 years. Bobbie enjoyed reading, flower gardening and going to Fernandina Beach.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Beuman Hendley; daughter, Candice Greenway Barber; father, Charles Taylor; mother, Eunice Holland and husband Hudson; and brother, Bennie Taylor.

Her family includes two sons, Alex B. Greenway, Jr. and Lisa Fowler of Vidalia, and Darrin B. Hendley and wife Rita of Prosper, Texas; two sisters, Joanne Williamson and husband Jerry of Waynesboro and Cecilia Streat of Nicholls; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, November 11th, from 6:00 until 8:00.

The graveside funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, November 12th at 3:00 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend George Holcomb officiating.
