Mr. Billy Gregory “Pork Chop” Dixon, age 59, of Glenwood, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia following an extended illness. He was a native of Wheeler County, living near Glenwood most of his life, and he was a 1984 graduate of Montgomery County High School. He worked with the Georgia Department of Corrections in Engineering and Construction Services and retired as Southwest Regional Manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, and playing with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill Dixon and Carolyn Hughes Dixon; and sister, Linda Sue Dixon Fountain.
His family includes his wife of thirteen years, Debbie Dixon; one daughter, Megan Dixon Perkins and husband Kole, all of Glenwood; one stepson, Joshua Gaskins and fiancé Shelby of Statesboro; three stepdaughters, Jessica Robinson and husband Matt, Ashley Clark and husband Mitchell, and Cristle Chaney and husband Geoffrey, all of Statesboro; two brothers, Jerry Dixon and Terry Dixon, both of Glenwood; one brother-in-law, Festus Fountain of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Payton Perkins and Kolton Perkins; seven step-grandchildren, Maddi Robinson, Abbigail Clark, Harrison Clark, Taylor Chaney, Bailey Chaney, Kaiden Gaskins, and Skylar Gaskins; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon, April 22nd, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor William Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Jerry Dixon, Festus Fountain, Randall Dixon, Joshua Gaskins, Kerry Anderson, and Sean Dixon.
