Billy Beasley

Mr. Billy Beasley, age 83, of the Cedar Crossing Community, died Friday, October 1, 2021, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital after a battle with Covid.  He was born in Treutlen County, as a child moved to Toombs County, later to Florida, and returned to Toombs County, living in Cedar Crossing since 1965.  Early in his life, he worked with Federal Pacific in Vidalia, and founded Beasley’s Roofing in 1969.  He was a member of the Uvalda Church of God; and he enjoyed farming, and spending time with his family at Lake Oconee.  He is preceded in death by a son, Billy Morris “Buck” Beasley; parents, Berry Morrison Beasley and Lizzie Belle NeeSmith Beasley; one sister, Bernice Beasley; and four brothers, Mark Beasley, C.A. Beasley, J.W. Beasley, and W.L. Beasley.

His family includes his wife of sixty-four years, Joyce Beasley of Cedar Crossing; six children, Dwayne Beasley and wife Angela of Vidalia, Barbara Craft and husband Jrell of Uvalda, Brenda Poole and husband Jessie, Wanda Carroll and husband Fate, all of Cedar Crossing, Paul Beasley and wife Kristi of Adrian, and David Beasley and wife Marsha of Cedar Crossing; two sisters, Reba Waller and Esther Dowd, both of Cedar Crossing; one brother, Jimmy Beasley and wife Jimmie Lou of Lake Wales, Florida; eighteen  grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Beasley home, 1657 Del Conner Road, on Monday evening beginning at 6:00.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 5th, at 3:00 p.m. at the Uvalda Church of God with Pastor Alvin Merritt and Reverend Paul Carlson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Beasley Family Cemetery.
