Mr. William V. “Bill” Jones, age 64 of the Marvin Yancey Community, died Tuesday, March 24, 2020, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and lived in the Marvin Community most of his life. Early in his life, he worked at Federal Pacific in Vidalia and after many years, retired from C&T Wholesalers in Lyons as a farm equipment salesman. He was a member of the Marvin United Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed farming, gardening and attending auctions. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Cole Darden and Tanner Jones; his parents, Frederick William “F.W.” Jones, Jr. and Vera Hadden Jones; and one sister, Virginia Jones Bailey.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Linda Craft Jones, two children, Jeremy Jones and wife Mandy, and Jennifer Jones Kraus and husband Jake, all of the Marvin Community; six grandchildren, Carlie, Jonathan, Cooper, Tucker, Ryleigh Claire and Addilyn; four sisters, Millie Boatman of Anderson, South Carolina, Rosa Stanley and husband Lloyd of Lynn Haven, Florida, Susan Faye McLamb and husband Ronnie of Savannah, and Cheryl Cox and husband Larry of Marvin; three brothers, Johnny Jones and wife Mona of Ailey, Jessie Jones and wife Joann and Roy Jones and wife Lisa, all of Marvin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life is tentatively planned this summer at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
