Mr. William Lawson “Bill” Foster, age 85, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at his home. He was born in Macon, and lived there until 1952 when his family moved to Reidsville. He graduated from Reidsville High School in 1955. After high school, he returned to Macon and worked twenty-seven years for Specialty Distributing Company, an electronics wholesale store, and then to Robins Air Force Base retiring after twenty-three years as a program manager. He retired to Toombs County in 2011, and was an avid deer hunter until his vision loss three years ago. He enjoyed the Atlanta Braves and college football. Preceding him in death are two sons, Karl Mickey Foster and Archie Eugene Foster; parents, Eugene and Essie Mann Foster; brothers, David Foster and Tommy Foster; and a sister, Betty Weitman.
His family includes his wife of sixty-five years, Erlene Kirkley Foster; and brother-in-law, Gregg Kirkley and wife Sherry, all of Johnson Corner.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 25th, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Michael Kennedy and Wayne Kirkley officiating.
