Mrs. Betty Ann Morgan Jones, age 79, of Lyons, died Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Memorial Health in Savannah after a sudden illness. She was a native of Toombs County, grew up in the Toombs Central Community, and she attended Toombs Central School. She lived in Cartersville and Broxton for a few years and in Lyons and Vidalia most of her life. She was a homemaker, a member of Aimwell Calvary Holiness Church in Vidalia and attended Landmark Holiness Church in Brooklet. She enjoyed visiting family and friends, and shopping. She was musically talented and could play almost any instrument, but she especially enjoyed playing the harmonica and piano. Her parents, William Henry Morgan and Eva Mae Sharpe Morgan; five brothers, Reverend Archie Morgan, Wilbert Morgan, Cleve Morgan, Leroy Morgan and Elton "Joe" Morgan; and two sisters, Annie Grace Morgan Spikes and an infant sister, Patricia Ann Morgan, precede her in death.
Her family includes her husband of forty-two years, William T. “Bill” Jones of Lyons; one brother, Otis Morgan of Richmond Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be Monday morning, February 24th, 2025, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Brother Jeff Butler and Pastor Cody Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Hardens Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
