Benny J. McDonald

Mr. Benny J. McDonald, age 61, of Lawrenceville, died Friday, August 9, 2024, at Milton Senior Living in Alpharetta, following an extended illness.  He was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Lawrenceville most of his life.  He was a 1980 graduate of Montgomery County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia.  He was a certified public accountant and worked with Bellsouth for many years and later with other companies.  He was a member of Cannon United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville and was assistant scoutmaster for Troop #21 in Norcross.  He enjoyed Swing Dance, Western movies, and 70s and 80s rock.  He is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Doyle McDonald; his mother, Avis Juanell Humphrey McDonald; and brother, Billy McDonald.

His family includes one son, Wes McDonald of Mableton; one brother, Barry McDonald and wife Kathy of Tarrytown; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be Friday afternoon, August 16th, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
