Obituary

Mr. Benjamin “Ben” Franklin Mason, age 88, of Lyons, died Thursday, March 23, 2023, at The Landings of Douglas after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County, living most of his life in Lyons. Mr. Mason was a self employed plaster specialist and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of The Oaks Baptist Church in Lyons. He loved to hunt, fish and be at the river, but he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Louise Franklin Mason; parents, Bennie Mason and Alene Pittman Mason; and a brother, Corbitt Mason.

His family includes his sister, Jeanette Aaron of Lyons; special friend, Diane Mills of Vidalia; and several, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The graveside service will be Saturday, March 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Lyons City Cemetery with Pastor Glenn Russell officiating.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until just prior to the service.
