Mrs. Barbara Ann (Bobbie) Clark Brooks, age 74, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at her sister’s home following an extended illness. She was born and raised in Wheeler County and was a 1970 graduate of Wheeler County High School. She lived near Glenwood for many years, living in Ailey for five years, before making Vidalia her home since 1986. Bobbie worked with Superintendent Billy Clark in the Wheeler County School System for several years. She was in banking most of her life, working with First Federal Savings & Loan in McRae-Helena, First Community Bank in Vidalia, Liberty Bank and more recently with BB&T Bank in Vidalia. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Glenwood. Bobbie enjoyed riding her bicycle, spending time with family and friends, and helping those in need.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ronald Page (Ron) Brooks, Sr.; stepdaughter, Alecia Page Brooks Olsen; parents, Addril Theodore Clark and Nora Celeste Sumner Clark; and four siblings, Lila Clark Gibbs, Mary Clark Cheek, J.P. Clark, and Randal Clark.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by one stepson, Ronald Page Brooks, Jr. and wife Samantha and their three children, Reis, Ivie, and Caleb, all of Jefferson; two sisters, Wilma Clark Montford and husband Kenneth of Glenwood, and Reba Clark Gibbs of the Stuckey Community; one brother, Ernest A. Clark and wife Pat of Mt. Vernon; two brothers-in-law, Rodney R. Brooks of Glenwood, and Anthony (Tony) Brooks and wife Carol of Vidalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday afternoon, April 30th, 2026, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Edge Memorial Gardens in Glenwood.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
