Barbara Doty Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Joiner Doty, age 63, of Vidalia, died Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness.  She was a native of Savannah and lived there and Hinesville most of her life.  She moved to southeast South Dakota in 1992, and has lived near Vidalia in Montgomery County since 2009.  She was a homemaker; she enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR, her chickens, from live chickens, porcelain chickens and paintings. She is preceded in death by her father, Ephraim Joiner; mother, Bobbie Nell Davis Joiner Reyes; and stepfather, Manuel Reyes; and a sister, Sandra Joiner Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Aaron Doty of Vidalia; three children, Shannon Doty and Sam Halverson, Jennie Samuels and husband Jason, all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Joey Dixon and wife Whitnie of Hinesville; seven grandchildren, Shelane, Logan, Brooke, Nicole, Lily, Ava, and Liam; and her furbaby, Rosie.

The funeral service will be held Monday, May 17th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.  Burial will follow later in South Dakota.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
