Ashley Paige Moses, 45, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away at home on December 21, 2024. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Uvalda Community Church in Uvalda, Georgia, with Reverend Shareon Womack officiating. Burial will be in the Uvalda City Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 p.m. at the church in advance of the funeral service.
Ashley was born on August 17, 1979, to Michael “Mickey” Moses and Rhenda Smith Zarzuela at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. She was raised in Waycross, Georgia, and Louisville, Georgia. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson Academy in 1997, Ashley attended college at both Georgia College & State University and Kennesaw State University, graduating from the latter university in 2007.
For several years, Ashley was employed as a customer service representative for Comcast where she excelled in commission-based work. She possessed an infectious laugh and an acerbic wit, and she left behind indelible memories for those who knew and loved her. Her compassion and care giving spirit were evident through her adoption of a number of rescue animals throughout her life.
Ashley was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dr. Ricardo “Rick” Zarzuela, and by her grandparents, James “Brooks” Moses, Mary Harris Moses, Jesse Melvin Smith, Sr., and Sally Faye Batten Smith. She is survived by her father Michael “Mickey” Moses, mother Rhenda Smith Zarzuela, stepmother Cynthia Roche, four siblings, Alex (Jolanta) Zarzuela, Luke Moses, Andrew Zarzuela, and Logan (Michael “Mike” Owens) Moses Owens, a nephew Ricardo “Ricky” Zarzuela, and a niece Amelie Zarzuela.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local Humane Society or to the Bridges of Hope.
