Mrs. Annette Braddy Mobley, age 88, of the Marvin Yancey Community, died Sunday, June 22, 2025, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native of the New Branch Community, and lived in Marvin and Vidalia most of her life. She was a homemaker, and she was former owner of the Pantry Shelf in Lyons. She attended Lyons High School, and was a substitute schoolteacher at Toombs Central. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She enjoyed flowers in her yard and hummingbirds. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Mobley; former husband, James Hoke Sanders; son, James Thurman “Little Jim” Sanders; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Brinson Sanders; parents, William Taft Braddy and Ruby Lee Drake Braddy; and three siblings, Elaine Braddy Morris Williams, Elton Eugene “Gene” Braddy, and W.T. Braddy.
Her family includes three sons, John R. Sanders and Martha, David H. Sanders, and Ben A. Sanders and wife Kim, all of Marvin; three sisters, Peggy Higginbotham of Macclenny, Florida, Marjorie Williamson of the Five Points Community, and Carol Funderburke of Lyons; two brothers, Charles Braddy and wife Merita of New Branch, and Tommy Braddy and wife Gwen of Lyons; seven grandchildren, Brandy Sanders Hall and husband Mitch of Lyons, Jamie Sanders Carter and husband Josh of New York, Amanda Sanders Miller and husband Jason of South Thompson, Clay Sanders and wife Hollie of Vidalia, Kristen Sanders of Marvin, and Abigail Sanders of California, and Brad Sanders of Vidalia; thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, at 11:00 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow at Odom Cemetery near Lyons.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
