Anna Johnson Pittman, age 85, of Lyons, died Sunday, December 19, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Girard, Georgia after an extended illness. She was a native of Lyons and a 1954 graduate of Lyons High School. Early in her life, she worked as a switchboard operator and later worked with Oxford Industries for many years. She was a member of Sharpe’s Chapel United Methodist Church; and she enjoyed flowers, yard work, and being at home. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Wright Johnson and Dorotha Wiggins Johnson; grandson, Jeremy Pittman; granddaughter, Shelly Hatfield; and six siblings, Gene Johnson, Earl Johnson, Max Johnson, Glenda Johnson, Rex Johnson, and Pat Johnson Williamson.
Her family includes three children, John T. Pittman of Lyons, Kimberly Varnadore and husband Ricky of Girard, and Noah Pittman of Clearwater, Florida; three siblings, Lois Whitman of McNatt Falls, Myrl Gosa of Rome, and Brent Johnson and wife Rosita of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Levi Pittman and wife Angela of Jenson Beach, Florida, Luke Pittman and wife Kristen of Rio, Florida, Nicholas Pittman of Atlanta, and Logan Pittman of Lyons; two great-grandchildren, Winniford Pittman and Haven Pittman; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Thursday, December 23rd, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
