Ancle Kersey

Mr. Ancle F. Kersey, age 83, of Vidalia, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, in Cedar Plantation Assisted Living in Metter, after an extended illness.  He was a native of Hazlehurst, and moved to Vidalia in 1960.  He worked with Lake McDonald Construction for many years, was a lifelong farmer, and was the owner/operator of Center Grocery for more than forty years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons.  Ancle enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and raising coon dogs.  He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Kersey; a son-in-law, Pete Day; parents, Hilton Felton Kersey and Verdie Mae Chavis Griffis; and three sisters, Thera Lee Hearn, Carolyn Griffis, and Annie Mae Carter.

Mr. Kersey is survived by five daughters, Sandra Kersey Day of Lyons, Kathy Kersey Marchand and husband Jim of McDonough, Sherry Kersey Chandler and husband Greg of Burke County, Lindy Kersey Horne and husband Keith of Vidalia, and Stacy Kersey Todd and husband Ricky of Lyons; one sister, Elaine Toler and husband Johnny of Hazlehurst; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 7th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Dannie Williams officiating. 

Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
