Mrs. Alice Conaway Mosley, age 75, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in Landmark Hospital in Savannah. She was a native of Montgomery County, a 1962 graduate of Montgomery County High School, and lived in Vidalia most of her life. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern College in Statesboro, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. Mrs. Mosley began her teaching career at Toombs Central and later continued to teach in Soperton and East Laurens. She retired from teaching after thirty-six years from the Toombs County Board of Education at Lyons High School, teaching Language Arts and Driver’s Education. She was well loved and respected by her students, so much so that on several occasions was chosen Teacher of the Year and Star Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Mosley was the first woman certified in the State of Georgia to teach Driver’s Ed. She was a member of the Georgia Association of Educators, the Red Hat Society, and the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Acie Conaway and Edna Hammock Conaway; and three sisters, Betty Conaway Riner, Geraldine Conaway Craft and Maxine Conaway Wilkes.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years, Leslie Mosley; one son, Les Mosley, both of Vidalia; one sister, Judy Conaway Phillips of Lyons; three grandchildren, Sebastian Mosley, Sophie Mosley and Emma Mosley; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
An opportunity to sign a register book and to pay your respects will be on Friday from 2:00 until 5:00 and on Saturday from 9:00 until Noon at the funeral home.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21st, at 2:00 p.m. in Pinecrest Cemetery with her nephew, Reverend Greg Riner, officiating.

The family has asked all attending the service to wear a mask and to observe social distancing.
