Abigail Rose “Abby” Gibson, age 3, of Swainsboro, died Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born in Chandler, Arizona and moved to Emanuel County one year ago. Saying Abby was a happy child would be a gross understatement and disservice to her. She was wild and free and never knew a moment of sadness or discontent.
She was "Happy Abby."
Her smile could light the darkest room and her laughter would melt anyone's heart. Abby was a gift and knowing her was the biggest blessing. She was pure. She was joy. Abby's name meant "Father’s Joy." And although he was putty in her perfect hands, she was everyone's joy, and her mother's heart.
Abby is survived by her parents, Patrick and Michelle, siblings Perrin and Broden Oliver and Christian and Arya Gibson; two grandmothers’, Rhetta Gibson and Melinda Gibbs, a host of aunts and cousins, one uncle and one nephew.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday afternoon, September 4th, from 1:00 until just prior to the funeral service at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Corbett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meghan’s Learning Academy, PO BOX 734, Twin City, GA 30471.
Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
