A.J. "Bo" Powell

Mr. A.J. “Bo” Powell, age 86, of Vidalia, died Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a brief illness.  He was a native of the Kibbee Community in Montgomery County, attended Kibbee school, and moved to Toombs County in 1956.  He helped his father farm until 1985.  He was a member of Calvary on Aimwell, and he enjoyed Georgia football, his dogs, birds, and eating.  His parents, Alvin Powell and Mildred Louise Calhoun Powell; and two brothers, Earl Powell and James Powell, preceded him in death.

His family includes one brother, Wayne Powell and wife Susan of Vidalia; one sister-in-law, Iowanna Powell of Statesboro, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

A graveside funeral service will be Thursday, January 30th, 2025, at 3:00 at Pine Crest Cemetery.
