Ohoopee Community,

Mrs. Zelma Jarriel Talley, age 82, of the Ohoopee Community, died Friday, January 12, 2018, in the Oaks Bethany in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County, and lived in the Ohoopee Community most of her life.  She worked at Thriftway Food Store in Lyons for thirty years, and was a member of the Vidalia Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel Calvin Jarriel and Ira Belle Slocum Jarriel; one sister, Betty Monroe; and two brothers, Otis Jarriel and Arthur Smith.

Mrs. Talley is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Fenton Talley of Ohoopee; four children, Tim Talley of Jonesboro, Jeanne Talley Fitzgibbons of Orange Beach, Alabama, Phillip Talley of Jonesboro, and Lisa Talley Henderson and husband Craig of Flowery Branch; two sisters, Daisy McCumber of Lyons, and Mabel Lanier and husband Earl of Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Laurette Jarriel of Lyons, and Joanne Smith of Gray; one brother-in-law, D.Q. Monroe of Lyons; three grandchildren, Randy C. Fitzgibbons, Jr., Nicholas Henderson, and Joshua Henderson; three great-grandchildren, Maya, Beck, and Adelyn Fitzgibbons; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, January 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Ohoopee Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
