Mrs. Willie Claude “Aunt Bill” Gibson, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 28, 2018, at her home. She was a native of Toombs County where she lived most of her life, and recently moved to Aiken, South Carolina. She worked with Brown Implement in Lyons as a secretary and bookkeeper. She was a member of the Lyons Presbyterian Church, now Grace Community Presbyterian Church where she also served as church secretary. She enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren, helping others, and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. “Jim” Gibson; parents, William Henry Graham and Susie Mae Smith; three sisters, Ara Kight, Georgia Mae Morris, and Dorothy Byrd; four brothers, Eugene Graham, Lenton Graham, Jerry Graham, and Lindberg Graham.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by two sons, Jimmy Gibson and wife Gail of Aiken, South Carolina, and Glynn Gibson and wife Gail of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Colby Gibson and wife Jillian of Savannah, Ryan Gibson and wife Britany of Statesboro, Abby Gibson of Chatham, Virginia, Amy Neu and husband Danny, Natalie Viar and husband David, and Anna Copeland and husband Mitch, all of Aiken; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jean Brown of Lyons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Grace Community Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jason Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Community Presbyterian Church.
