Vidalia,
Mr. William M. “Bill” Faircloth, Jr., age 75, of Vidalia, died Monday, June 10, 2019, in The Oaks-Bethany in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was born in Dublin and grew up in Swainsboro. He lived in Columbia, South Carolina, Midville and Collins for many years, before moving to Vidalia five years ago. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the First Baptist Church of Swainsboro. Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by a son, William Marvin Faircloth III; parents, William Marvin Faircloth, Sr. and Lois Pervus Shepard; step-father, Joe Brown Shepard; granddaughter, Kristen Faircloth; and two brothers, David Faircloth and Timothy Faircloth.
Mr. Faircloth is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Mary Sue Faircloth of Vidalia; two daughters, Ann Atkinson and husband Mike of Soperton and Brooks Clark and husband Roger of Rincon; two brothers, Mike Shepard and wife Peggy of Lawrenceville, and Thomas Shepard and wife Lawanda of Collins; four grandchildren, Michael Atkinson and wife Amy, Scott Atkinson, Will Atkinson, all of Soperton and Emily Clark of Rincon; and two great-grandchildren, Izzie and Rebekah.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, June 14th at 10:30 a.m. in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in East Dublin with Reverend Louis Pearce officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
