Susan Ford

Ms. Susan Ford, age 62, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in   Meadows Health of Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Vidalia and lived most of her life in Statesboro before moving back to Vidalia in 2016.  She was the Director of Addictive Disease Services for Pineland Behavioral Health and Disabilities until retiring in 2016. She retired, but continued to work part-time, best known for the many lives she touched in supporting people in recovery. She held the highest certification in addiction medicine as a Certified Addiction Counselor II, Certified Clinical Supervisor, and Licensed Practical Nurse. She was past President of Georgia Addiction Counselors Association, twice served on Georgia Addiction Counselors Certification Board, was a member of the Board of Directors for Georgia Addiction Counselors Association, and was presently a CARF National Surveyor for the past thirteen years. She was a member of Vidalia Presbyterian Church, loved baking desserts and cakes, and was preceded in death by her parents, Sara and Jack Ford, Sr., and one brother, Wally Ford.

Ms. Ford is survived by one sister, Angela Ford Cloud of Vidalia; and a niece and nephew who she thought of as her own, Jaime Cloud of New York City, New York and Berry Cloud of Vidalia.

The memorial service will be held Friday, March 30th at 5:30 p.m. at Vidalia Presbyterian Church with Reverend Ron Gilreath officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 4:00 until just prior to the service.
