Mrs. Sarah Bryant Dickerson, age 87, of Lyons, died Thursday, January 2, 2020, in Meadows Health in Vidalia, after a sudden illness. She was a native of Toombs County, grew up in the New Branch Community and was a 1949 graduate of Lyons High School. She worked with the Toombs County Extension Office in Lyons for fifteen years and later with Oxford Industries where she retired. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons, and she enjoyed growing flowers and yard work. She was preceded in death by two husbands, William C. Harrison and William “Bill” Dickerson; parents, Ralph Franklin Bryant and Eunice Louise Dismuke Bryant and an infant brother, Carroll Hayden Bryant.
Mrs. Dickerson is survived by two daughters, Debbie R. Lockley of Lyons, and Linda S. Anderson and husband Elvis of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; one sister, Martha Parker and husband George of Vidalia; one sister-in-law, Etheleen James of Lyons; three grandchildren, Justin Lockley and wife Martha of Toombs County, Courtney Spurlock and husband Chris of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Cadie Cook of Mt. Juliet; eight great-grandchildren, Easton, Jayce, Eli, Sadie, Mason, Sarah, Noah and Piper; and several nieces.
A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, January 6th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Lyons City Cemetery with Pastor Dannie Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00.
