Sandra Jean Burkett

Gray’s Landing Community,

Mrs. Sandra Jean Burkett, age 54, of Gray’s Landing Community, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Vidalia, lived most of her life in Toombs County, and was a 1982 graduate of Lyons Senior High School. Sandra worked with her brother, David, for Burkett Construction and was a member of Ailey Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Katheryn NeeSmith Burkett.

Sandra is survived by one son, B.J. Poole and wife Whitney of Baxley; one daughter, Amanda Kennedy and husband Joe Jack of Tattnall County; three brothers, Marty Burkett and wife SaDonna of Gray’s Landing, Ricky Burkett and wife Rhonda of Kibbee, and David Burkett and wife Jan of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Cassie Collins, Brailey Poole, Brooke Poole, and Brynlee Poole; cousin, Joanne Collins; and her special friends, Brenda Whitaker and Sheila Ogle.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Patrick officiating.  Burial will follow in Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00,
