Cedar Crossing Community,
Mrs. Sammie Jo Beasley Dees, age 69, of the Cedar Crossing Community, died Monday, January 22, 2018, in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, after a sudden illness. She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, and lived in Cedar Crossing most of her life. She attended Toombs Central High School, was a homemaker, and a member of the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Eloise Rollins Beasley; and two brothers, Ronnie Jack “Rabbit” Beasley and Gary W. Beasley.
Mrs. Dees is survived by her husband, Aubrey Dees of Cedar Crossing; four children, Stacy Craven and wife Carolyn of Liberty, South Carolina, Marty Craven and wife Terri, Audra Dees Meeks, all of Cedar Crossing, and DeanAnne Dees Fordham and husband Jon of Cochran; one brother, Johnny Beasley and wife Jan of Cedar Crossing; nine grandchildren, Anthony Craven, Madison Craven, Sadie Kelly, Stella Kelly, Samuel Kelley, Sophie Kelly, J.R. Fordham, James Fordham, and Jett Fordham; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
