Mr. Lewis Ronald “Ronny” McClellan, age 84, of Vidalia, died Sunday, December 15, 2019, in Meadows Health in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a native of Bradford County, Florida and was a 1953 graduate of Bradford County High School. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and serving in the Pacific. He retired in 1997 after thirty-eight years from Hercules. Working with Hercules, he lived in Jasper, Florida, Sylvania, Jesup, Vidalia, Brunswick, Laurinburg, North Carolina, and returned to Vidalia in 2006 after retiring. He was Baptist by faith and his hobby was his yard. He enjoyed watching western movies and he was an avid Florida fan.
Mr. McClellan is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Bobbie Sweat McClellan; two sons, Darren McClellan and wife Kelly, all of Vidalia, and Paul McClellan and wife Melissa of Brunswick; one sister, Margie Tomlinson and husband Johnny; one brother, Bobby McClellan and wife Sheila, all of Starke, Florida; five grandchildren, Taylor McClellan, Carson McClellan, Gracelyn McClellan, Johna Taylor and Jacob Budd; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Taylor and Killian Taylor; several nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, Cody.
A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00.
