Vidalia,
Mrs. Pearl McGuire McDonald, age 85, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a brief illness. She was a native of Lumpkin County, and as a child moved to Smyrna, Georgia. She was a graduate of Campbell High School in Smyrna, and attended Greenleaf Business School in Atlanta. Early in her life, she worked for American Motors as an accountant for thirteen years, moved to Toombs County in 1966, and she and her late husband were owners of Lake McDonald Construction. She was an active member of the Center Methodist Church where she served as treasurer and sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lake McDonald; parents, Ralph McGuire and Clara Lee Robinson McGuire; one sister, Joyce McGuire; two brothers, Wesley McGuire and George McGuire; two brothers-in law, Larry Owens and Dan Ferrell.
Mrs. McDonald is survived by three sisters, Ann McGuire Ferrell of North Augusta, South Carolina, Frances McGuire Ferrell and husband Doug of Roebuck, South Carolina, and Edith Owens of Vidalia; two sisters-in-law, Evalie McGuire of Adairsville, and Ginger McGuire of Jasper, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, January 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the Center Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Womack officiating. Entombment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00.
