Mrs. Melinda Castillo Gray Wilcher, age 59, of Lyons, received her angel wings on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at her home, after an extended illness. She was a native of Houston, Texas and lived most her life in Mineral Wells, Texas before moving to Toombs County in 2002. She worked for Shuman’s Cleaners for ten years and then Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation for several more. She was Christian by faith and loved the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with her grandchildren. Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosa Castillo; and siblings, John Castillo and Gloria Silva.

Mrs. Wilcher is survived by her husband, David Wilcher of Lyons; one son, William Lee Gray, Jr. and wife Hannah of Denham Springs, Louisiana; four daughters, Tonya Marie DeLaCruz and husband Juaquin, Annie Eliza Crouch all of Anton, Texas, Rosalinda Billeaudeaux and husband Michael of Kinder, Louisiana, and Crystal Diane Gray of Anton, Texas; four brothers, Richard Castillo, Tommy Castillo, and David Castillo all of Houston, Texas, and Michael Castillo and wife Ramona of Lexington, Texas; two sisters, Belinda Hernandez and Rosalie Capelo and husband Gilbert all of Houston, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, Angalina Wright, Alex DeLaCruz, Dalton Gray, Selena Hernandez, Sean Hernandez, William Lee Gray III, Gloria Rose   Billeaudeaux, Jessie Kay Billeaudeaux, Daisy Lynn Billeaudeaux, Anthony Wayne Crouch II, Leala Michelle Billeaudeaux, Justin Michael Billeaudeaux, Kaleb Lee Crouch, McKena “Sour Pickles” Landry, Cohan Lee Gray, and Eliza Marie Gray “Grandma’s Heart”; two great-grandchildren, James and Camden; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, December 10th at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Herbert Toole officiating. A private burial will follow.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 8:00.
