Vidalia,
Mrs. Matalice Spivey Fech, age 78, of Vidalia, died Saturday, December 1, 2018, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was a native of Vidalia and was a 1958 graduate of Vidalia High School. Matalice worked as a loan officer at the former Brice Banking Company for many years until she married her now late husband. She moved to Gainesville, Georgia where she lived for twenty years and worked with Regions Bank for twenty years. She retired and returned home to Vidalia in 1997 and was a member of the Smith Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane Fech; parents, W.C. Spivey and Dessie Dale Tyson Spivey; one brother, Jim L. Spivey; and one sister, Clevis Spivey.
Mrs. Fech is survived by one sister, Glennis Spivey Foskey of Soperton; and several nieces and nephews, including a niece and caregiver, JacQue Cowart of Vidalia, and a great-nephew, Shane NeeSmith of Toombs Central.
A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, December 7th at 3:00 p.m. in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Reverend John Daughtry officiating.
